Roque Nublo Gran Canaria | The Clouded Rock
Roque Nublo Gran Canaria | The Clouded Rock
Gran Canaria has many attractions and one of the most photographed is the Roque Nublo Gran Canaria, also known as the clouded rock.
Located in the Nublo Rural Park, the Roque Nublo is a focal point for many visiting this stunning area of natural beauty.
The formation, which is a protected natural monument, takes pride for those that live locally in Tejeda.
At 220ft (67 meters) tall it is the second highest peak on the Gran Canaria Island only to the neighbouring Pico de las Nieves.
Getting to the Roque Nublo takes around 40 minutes on the main trail.
It is advised to wear appropriate footwear for this journey as the pathways are very rocky.
On arrival to this stunning landmark the views alone are well worth the hike.

Getting to the Nublo Park is best done by hiring a car but planned excursions are available from most of the islands resorts.
One tip if you do drive here, make sure the car has a full tank of petrol as filling stations are few and far between.
If you bring your own pack lunch it is asked that you don’t leave any litter behind.
For those wanting refreshments here there is a small shop at the start of the trail and a good place to stop for a rest on the way back down.
