The Best Nature Holidays in the USA

Nature Holidays in the USA: While the United States remains one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, it is probably fair to say that it is not usually thought of as a natural stop for nature holidays.

While the lure of big cities such as New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas is as strong as ever, the stunning natural scenery and exciting wildlife that can be found in the country’s more rural areas is often unfairly forgotten about.

From the wetlands of Florida teeming with all manner of birds and reptiles to the rugged magnificence of Yellowstone National Park in the state of Wyoming, the vast size of the USA means that the variety of wildlife and natural spectacles on offer is truly astounding.

A Feast for the Eyes

Covering a huge area of Wyoming and extending into the states of Idaho and Montana too, Yellowstone was the world’s very first national park.

With the Rocky Mountains providing the perfect backdrop and vast expanses of green forest broken up by serene lakes and magnificent waterfalls, Yellowstone is a feast for the eyes and a haven for photographers.

Nature Holidays in the USA

Animals are abundant throughout Yellowstone and, depending on which time of year you visit, it is possible to observe bears, wolves, cougars, otters, moose, bison and many other species in their natural habitat.

Of course, no visit to Yellowstone would be complete without visiting Old Faithful, perhaps the most famous geyser in the world.

Alligators and Snakes

In the south of the USA, the Everglades in the state of Florida provide a very different experience to that of Yellowstone.

In contrast to the fresh mountain air of Wyoming, the Everglades have a more tropical feel and there is sometimes an eerie calmness to the surroundings.

The most famous residents here are the alligators who are many in number.

In addition, a trip to the Everglades could see you in close contact with snakes, turtles and all manner of beautiful birds.

With so many other wildlife hot spots scattered throughout the country, the United States is a superb choice for enjoying nature holidays with a difference.
